Privacy Policy

1. The short version

• Weekend Wizard has no accounts. We don't ask for your name, email or password.
• During a session, your voice and the photos you share go to Google (Gemini) so the AI can understand them and answer you. We tell you this, and ask for your agreement, before the microphone or camera turns on.
• When you end a session, the conversation and up to 4 photos go to Anthropic (Claude) to write your project summary.
• Your saved projects stay on your phone. We don't upload them.
• Our server doesn't store your audio, photos or conversations.
• No ads, no tracking, no selling your data.

2. Who we are

Weekend Wizard is made by Russell Unlimited LLC ("we", "us"). This policy covers the Weekend Wizard iPhone app and this website. If you have a question about it, contact us.

3. What happens during a session

A "session" starts when you begin talking to Weekend Wizard about a job and ends when you tap Stop. Here is what is sent, where it goes, and why.

Your voice

While a session is open, the microphone stays on so you can talk hands-free, unless you tap Mute. Your voice is streamed to Google's Gemini API so the AI can understand you and reply out loud. The microphone turns off when you end the session or leave the app.

Photos

Weekend Wizard sends still photos, not continuous video. A photo is sent to Google when you tap Look, when you ask Weekend Wizard to take a look, or when you add a photo from your library. The camera preview on your screen is not streamed. Photos are used to help with your repair and are not used to identify people.

Marking parts on a photo

When Weekend Wizard circles or points to a part on one of your photos, that photo and a short description of the part (for example, "the shut-off valve") pass through our server to Google's Gemini API, which finds the part on the photo.

Backup provider (only if you allow it)

On the first screen you can choose to allow OpenAI as a backup if Google is slow. If you allow it, your voice and photos may go to OpenAI during that session instead. If you don't allow it, nothing is sent to OpenAI.

Your project summary

When you tap Stop to end the session, the text of the conversation and up to 4 photos pass through our server to Anthropic (Claude), which writes a short summary of the project and your next step.

4. What stays on your phone

Saved projects are stored only on your device. A saved project can include the summary, your next step, safety checks you confirmed, your photos, and the conversation history. We don't upload saved projects and can't see them.

Deleting the Weekend Wizard app deletes all of this from your phone.

5. Our servers

Our server does three things:

• It gives the app short-lived access passes so it can talk to the AI companies directly.
• It passes photos for part marking to Google.
• It passes end-of-session summary requests to Anthropic.

Our server does not store your audio, photos or conversations. It may keep basic error logs, such as the time and type of an error, without that content.

Like any internet service, our server and our hosting provider see your device's IP address when the app connects. We don't use it to identify you or to build a profile.

If any of this changes, we will update this policy first.

6. The AI companies we use

Each company below processes what we send it under its own terms and privacy policy:

We use these companies' paid developer services. How long each company keeps data, and whether it may be used to improve their services, is set by their terms linked above.

7. Phone permissions

• Microphone: to hear you during a session.
• Camera: to take the photos you share during a session.
• Photo library: only when you choose photos to add.

You can turn these off at any time in the iPhone Settings app. Weekend Wizard can't help you hands-free without the microphone.

8. What we don't do

• We don't show ads.
• We don't use analytics or tracking tools, in the app or on this website.
• We don't use cookies.
• We don't sell or share your personal information for advertising.
• We don't use photos to recognize faces or identify people.

9. Children

Weekend Wizard is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them. You must be at least [[MIN AGE]] to use Weekend Wizard. If you believe a child has used the app, contact us.

10. Your choices and rights

• Mute stops sending your voice.
• Stop ends the session and turns off the microphone.
• Delete a project, or the app, to remove saved projects from your phone.
• You can choose not to allow the OpenAI backup.

Because our server doesn't keep your content, there's usually nothing of yours for us to find or delete. Data held by an AI company is handled under that company's policy. If you need help with a request, email us and we'll help you with it.

California, Colorado and other U.S. states

Depending on where you live, state privacy laws may give you rights over your personal information, such as California's CCPA/CPRA and the Colorado Privacy Act. These can include the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, and to ask us to delete or correct it. We will not treat you differently for using these rights. We do not sell personal information, share it for targeted advertising, or use it for profiling. If we deny a request, you can appeal by replying to our answer.

People in the EU, UK and similar places

We process your voice and photos because you ask us to and agree to it when you start. You can withdraw that agreement at any time by ending the session or deleting the app. You may ask to access, correct or delete your data, or object to how it's used, and you can complain to your local data protection authority. The AI companies we use may process data in the United States.

11. Security

The app talks to our server and to the AI companies over encrypted connections (HTTPS and secure WebSockets). The access passes the app uses expire after a short time. No system is perfectly secure, but we keep what we handle to the minimum.

12. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here and update the "Last updated" date. If a change matters to how your data is used, we will also tell you in the app before it takes effect.
